A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghazi Kakai, accused the Kurdistan Democratic Party of continuing the policy of one decision in Kurdistan, while stressing that the policy of Yekti is consistent with the policy of the Suwani government in many files.
Kakai said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, “The meeting with Pavel Talabani and Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani came to find solutions to several contentious files with Parti,” noting that “intransigence in decisions will only harm the Kurdish citizen, and this is what the Patriotic Union does not seek.”
During the discussion, the topic of holding the upcoming elections for the Kurdistan region was brought up. It was also emphasized that the Kurdish citizens should be kept away from the political differences between the Union and the Democratic Party.
He stated, “The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s policies align with those of the Suwani government in various areas that the Democratic party opposes.”
The relationship between the Parti and Alekti is witnessing a great deterioration and continuous disputes, since 2018 to the present time, as disputes continue between the Kurdish parties within the Kurdistan region regarding many files, most notably the election law.
Earlier in the day, he met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani and President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, for the importance of consensus to complete the political benefits and end the differences between the two Kurdish parties.
