Today, Wednesday, Rafiq Al-Salihi, the Basra Governorate representative, evaluated from another perspective the off-base decision to change over oil organisations from self-funding to focused supporting.
Al-Salihi has expressed during an interview that the new decision of restoring the central model in dealing with the Iraqi oil industry may turn into a colossal failure of this sector.
He added, “such a decision might lead to a reduction in the production of crude oil and undermine the government’s efforts to achieve independence in oil products.”
Regarding Basra oil industries, he has said, “We fully side with the demands of their workers regarding resuming self-financing.”
