The National Bank of Iraq on Wednesday approached all licensed trade organizations to take part in the dollar sales window opened to travellers.
The bank said in a statement today: “We call all category (A, B) exchange companies licensed by the Central Bank of Iraq to come to our branches in order to open a special bank account to be able to come to the window through travelers selling and buying foreign currency for cash dollars.
It is noteworthy that the National Bank of Iraq decided to establish July 4, 2024 as the date to start selling dollars to travelers, only through corporate and banking branches at international airports.
In the meantime, The National Bank decided to enable foreign exchange companies of type “AB” to record inside and outside settlement transactions through the FITR platform.
