Ali Al-Lami, a member of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, told Babili on Tuesday that Iraqi Oil Tankers Company has a huge shortage; he asserted that the company’s director told them about their need for 60 tankers.
“The Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee has hosted the Director-General of the Iraqi Oil Tankers Company in Basra Governorate to identify the most important obstacles and problems related to the work of the company,” Al-Lami explained.
According to his explanation, “the company’s director complains of the lack of tankers in this company, requesting the support of the Ministry of Oil and the Parliamentary Oil Committee to obtain some approvals and the necessary financial allocation for the purchase of oil tankers.”.
Al-Lami brought up that “the head of the big hauler organization affirmed during his facilitating in the parliamentary oil board, the organization’s requirement for 60 big haulers to address the issue and accomplish independence,” showing that “the cost of one big hauler arrives at 150 million bucks, and that Iraq as of now possesses just six big haulers.
