Today, Saturday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf announced that the trade exchange with China surpassed $48 billion over the past year.
Al-Sahhaf announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will celebrate the 65th anniversary of bilateral relations with China tomorrow. He also mentioned that trade exchange with China in 2022 will exceed $48.5 billion.
The Chinese and Iraqi governments established diplomatic relations on August 25, 1958, at the ambassadorial level.
Abd al-Haqq Fadel became the first Iraqi ambassador to China in 1960. He presented his credentials to the Chinese government on April 27th, 1960 following their signing by Najeeb al-Rubaie, then head of the Iraqi Sovereignty Council, on March 23rd, 1960.
