Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani announced measures to deter speculators in the dollar.
During a press conference, Al-Sudani stated that they have supported a series of measures that will play a significant role in resolving the dollar crisis in Iraq. He further added that this crisis has created a group of speculators, leading some merchants and private banks to turn into currency traders.
He stated that both we and the Central Bank have legal procedures in place to deter speculators, with dedicated security agencies and committees to implement them.
The Prime Minister stated that the Central Bank of Iraq and Iran agreed to conduct transactions using tomans instead of dollars.
