On Friday, a security source in Anbar Governorate reported that three US Army soldiers were killed or wounded during an attack on Ain al-Asad Air Base in western Anbar.
According to a statement from the source, leaked information suggests that three Americans lost their lives after the Ain al-Asad air base in the Al-Baghdadi district of Hit was targeted by drones and missiles. The injured individuals were reportedly airlifted by American aircraft to an unknown location.
He stated that the assault on Ain al-Assad base resulted in harm to the American army’s infrastructure within the base, and the extent of the loss was undetermined due to the rigorous measures taken by the US forces.
During the incident, the American forces set up a security cordon around the base building, preventing the security forces from approaching the entrance.
The American forces vowed to continue operations and stressed that they would not stand by and watch as the Palestinian people in Gaza are being genocided against, while the Iraqi Islamic Resistance claimed responsibility for targeting the American bases in Ain al-Assad and Harir in Iraqi Kurdistan on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
