A member of the Human Rights Movement, Hussein Ali Al-Karawi, accused American-affiliated forces of attempting to overthrow the Sudanese government on Monday. He suggested that the US Treasury’s sanctions are being used as a tool of pressure against the Sudanese government.
During an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, Al-Karawi stated that there are efforts to undermine the government with assistance from the United States and occasionally with the involvement of Iraqi political groups.
He pointed out that there is a direct relationship between America and its political and media branches that encourages the exploitation of the dollar crisis in order to achieve suspicious goals.
He stated that recent incidents in power stations, such as fires and explosions of transmission lines, are part of a larger plan by the United States to incite protests and overthrow the government. These actions are intended to create unrest in society and further American interests.
