Nehro Rawandozi, Deputy Chairman of the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, revealed the latest on the oil and gas law according to the Baghdad-Erbil agreement today, Wednesday.
“The law was part of the political agreement paper on which the current government was formed but the issue of legislation is still pending many differences,” Rawandozi said.
“That’s what he added “the boards of trustees formed by the public authority have not finished their work fully, so the draft of the oil and gas regulation can not be sent to the Deputies’ Gathering.”
He said “there are political differences over the draft of the oil and gas regulation between the center, the province and the oil-producing areas, he added that there is a committee formed by the State President including representatives of the three main components in Iraq: Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites.”
He said “the committee tasked with drafting the regulation has not finished its work in that frame yet, so the draft regulation can not be sent to the Deputies’ Board.”
