Parliamentary Finance reveals the fate of the salary scale of employees

Thamer Dhiban Al-Hamdani, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, shared on Tuesday the current status of negotiations surrounding the creation of the employee salary scale law. According to Al-Hamdani, the law is still being reviewed by the government.

During an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, Al-Hamdani revealed that a committee has been established by the Prime Minister, consisting of members from finance, planning, and other ministries, to create a proposed salary scale law.

He stated that the committee established by the prime minister was tardy in producing its report on the ultimate formulation of the proposed legislation.

According to Al-Hamdani, the Parliamentary Finance Committee recently met with the government committee responsible for drafting the employees’ salary scale law. During the meeting, they discussed which agencies and ministries would be affected by the proposed changes to the salary scale.

He mentioned that currently, the law is still being worked on by the government and the committee in charge. Once it’s prepared, it will be sent to the House of Representatives for approval.

According to a statement from House of Representatives member Ali Shaddad to Al-Maalouma, the federal government has delayed the implementation of a salary scale amendment for employees until after 2023.
