Parliamentary Energy: Work is continuing towards passing the oil and gas law

According to Suhaila Al-Sultani, a member of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, the government and political parties are currently working towards resolving the obstacles that are hindering the process of legislating the oil and gas law. The priority is to ensure public interest and to move towards the enactment of the law within the Parliament.

Al-Sultani has stated that there are ongoing efforts by various political parties to resolve the oil and gas law issue. The aim is to finalize the law and submit it to the House of Representatives for discussion, reading, and voting in the upcoming sessions.

She stated that the Al-Sadiqoun bloc and other representatives agreed on the importance of passing this law because it guarantees the fair distribution of wealth to all Iraqis and protects this wealth from any influences.

She clarified that despite political turmoil surrounding this law, it remains an essential law for the Iraqi people. She emphasized that the public interest demands that it is passed in Parliament with consensus among the representatives.
