On Wednesday, Rafik Al-Salihi, a member of the Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marshes Committee, announced that he had invited the commander of the Fourth Border Forces to Parliament due to Kuwait’s prevention of Iraqi farmers from cultivating their lands.
During an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, Al-Salhi reported that the Fourth Border Forces stopped numerous farmers from plowing and planting their land along the Kuwait border.
According to him, preventing farmers from using their land has negatively affected the local farmers. This could result in a decrease in food security in Iraq, especially in Basra.
