Leader in the Coordination Framework, which aggregates the Shiite political forces, disclosed today, Thursday, the reason Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani did not implement a “ministerial amendment” over the last time.

“Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani wanted to make some ministerial changes, but the general political situation and his keenness to maintain stability and harmony on the one hand, and the failure to resolve the parliament presidency file, prevented this change from being made,” Leader Hassan Fadham said Shafak News Agency.

“The Coordination Framework supports Al-Sudani in any proposal or step that would strengthen the service role provided by the government,” Faddam said. “But some political circumstances prevented some of Al-Sudani’s steps; the framework still supports the Prime Minister’s measures in managing the state, providing services, fighting corruption, and achieving security and political stability in the country.”

The Parliamentary Strategic Planning Committee disclosed on Monday, March 11, that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani was almost ready for a ministry reshuffle and clarified the reason behind this.

Mohammed Al-Baldowicz, the deputy head of the committee, informed Shafak News Agency, “There are ministries that have fulfilled their tasks properly over the last period, and have clear protocols. Simultaneously, other ministries have failed to finish their initiatives and have not given their whole force and ability. Consequently, some ministries need rethink their approach and administration.

“According to the evaluation, there are ministries that can be rated as ‘good,’ and there are ministries that are rated as ‘average,’ and some ministries are rated as ‘less than acceptable,'” Al-Baldowicz, a Coordinator Framework representative, said. “For this reason there is expected ministerial change within the government reform that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani is stressing.”

Notably, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has changed numerous administrative policies in several ministries and state organizations since he took office of presidency of the government. Al-Sudani resolved in December 2022 to set a six-month timeframe to assess government performance in view of its approved agenda. Under designated timelines, the evaluation covers ministers, undersecretaries, governors, advisers, and general managers. He gave the general managers three months to assess their performance before then.
