MP: We recovered Iraqi funds that were smuggled to 5 countries

Friday, MP Mudar Maan revealed Iraq has seized money meant for five different countries.

“The fund for recovering Iraq money that has been smuggling abroad by corrupt people is being implemented through multiple steps in coordination with governments and international organizations, and it is managing positively Baghdad’s efforts,” Maan said.

He included that. “Events are underway to enact the law on recovering assets, which would represent a turning point in tackling an important document.; Iraq’s efforts succeeded with regards to recovering assets that were looted to five countries; there are efforts to open up to other countries, including European and Asian countries, to discover more culprits against which arrest warrant have been issued.”

Though cases before the courts are complex and the money transported is substantial, investigations revealed a lot and efforts are under way to identify the most corrupt people who have moved overseas”.

Recently, tens of billions of dinars have been recovered from most incredible efforts in exposing corrupt people, most notably those who left overseas.
