The member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Advisory committee, Ali Al-Mashkoor, revealed today, Sunday, the latest developments with regards to the passing of the Oil and Gas Bill.
“The oil and gas law remains a hostage of political differences and is currently outside the corridors of the House of Representatives after it was returned to the government,” Al-Mashkoor said in a statement.
“The Oil Committee has gone through the law article by article in order to realize the contested points and agree on them to be ultimately voted on at the House of Representatives during the next phase,” he continued.
“Political differences over the oil and gas law still persist, which is why it has not been approved and endorsed so far,” Al-Mashkoor said.
The Kurdish parties still persuade the government not to apply the oil and gas law, which was supposed to be voted in parliament to end the violation and robberies being accomplished by the Kurdistan Local Government in the oil sneaking record.
