MP Kamel Al-Akeili responded on Friday on six Baghdad service projects.

Al-Akeili said, “The state funds service projects in Baghdad and the rest of the governorates with billions of dinars.” “There are questions over some of them, though, and some of them are not followed as specified.” He claimed that he observed several negative aspects regarding many significant projects during his field tours.

“An official request was submitted to the Prime Minister to form an investigation committee into the projects of six areas in the capital, Baghdad, located within multiple geographical axes, including the east of the canal, so ensuring the implementation of specifications in project contracts, leading to their completion according to technical and engineering conditions,” he said.

“The supervisory performance requires us to pay attention to the services file because it reflects a special priority for the vast areas that are in dire need of integrated service projects,” he said. He was stressing the fact that “the services file” comes first specifically.

This is proof of corruption since many projects are not carried out in conformity with the engineering and technical standards stated in the contracts.
