Member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee MP Mohammed Anouz denied on Saturday the claims made on the increase in House of Representatives members’ salary and benefits, characterising them as media hyperbole. Based on what he said,
Anouz said, “The issue of discussing rising the salaries and allowances of the members of the House of Representatives is not true, indicating that the salaries of the Council’s employees and representatives were reduced in 2015, but the Federal Court issued a decision to address the issue.”
He said, “The Presidency of the House of Representatives issued instructions in accordance with the internal regulations based on the Civil Service Law, not to add any new allocations or raise previous allocation.”
“Generate concrete proof, clarifying that the guidelines were followed.”
