Haider Al-Lami, a member of the State of Law Coalition, stated that Iraq does not need the presence of any combat forces within the country. He went on, however, to say that full sovereignty would be achieved only when there was national unity.
He wrote in his statement to that “the issue of the military forces remaining in the country is an issue that is a joke” and that “America has acknowledged Iraq’s ability to protect its lands and that it doesn’t need foreign forces.”
He added, “The question of the American presence in Iraq is supposed to lead to solutions as an outcome of the procrastination method it is following,” pointing out that “the achievement of full sovereignty for the country can be done through the removal of these forces, and this question also requires the existence of national unity.”.
“Popular rejection of the practices carried out by American forces in the country, whether in the past or currently,” he said.
In that regard, what is surprising is that following all the violations committed in Iraq, it is the present administration that ordered the setting up of joint committees with a view to the withdrawal of American troops.
