Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh, Director General of Customs of the Kurdish province of Kermanshah in Iran, declared on Wednesday that the exports of commodities from the province’s boundaries surged by 130% in the past five months of this year (the Iranian year starts on March 21).
Translated by Shafaq News Agency, Abbaszadeh said in a statement on the Iranian Mehr website that items weighing three million and 75 thousand tons, valued two billion and 684 million and 99 thousand dollars, were shipped to Iraq from the border customs of Kermanshah province.
In terms of value, he said, the volume of exported items rose by 130% compared to the same period last year; in terms of weight, it rose by 4%.
Out of the overall export goods, Abbaszadeh said, Parvizkhan Customs accounted for 1 billion, 611 million, 744 thousand dollars, of goods weighing 1 million, 301 thousand, 382 tons, the highest volume of goods exported from the province across its borders to Iraq.
He noted that the 434 million and 697 thousand dollar part of export goods Khosravi customs had during the last four months weighed 670 thousand and 615 tons.
He said that the volume of goods exported from Sumar Customs during the first five months of the current year amounted to 447 million and 141 thousand dollars, weighing 740 thousand and 85 tons; the share of Sheikh Sallah Customs during this period was 170 million and 431 thousand dollars, weighing 238 thousand and 112 tons; the share of Shushmi Customs was estimated at 20 million and 85 thousand dollars, weighing 125 thousand.
