Iraq tightens preventive measures on imported goods, especially electronic devices

On Wednesday, the Iraqi National Security Ministerial Council resolved to increase preventative actions at border crossings on imported commodities, particularly electronic gadgets.

Major General Yahya Rasool Abdullah, the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, said in a statement obtained by Shafak News Agency that the Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, chaired a Ministerial Council for National Security meeting where the latest developments in the security situation in Iraq were discussed, the agenda topics were discussed, and recommendations were made regarding them.

The meeting covered harmonizing Cabinet decisions on the distribution of colored metal waste to the Military Industrialization Authority and the Ministry of Industry and Minerals.

The Council decided to provide southern anti-drug workers temporary lump sum compensation.

After listening to a thorough briefing on advancements in the Lebanese Republic, the Council underlined the need of keeping providing medical and humanitarian relief to heal the wounded.

The Council underlined the security checks on imports, closely before contracting them and dealing with trustworthy companies before the import process with regard to electronic devices; it also underlined the border crossings to take the required and preventive measures to avoid any possible breach.
