Iraq partially settles gas debt to Iran, talks continue

According to a statement from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iraq has made partial payments towards its debts for gas supplies. The foreign ministry mentioned that the funds were transferred to a third country.

The ministry highlighted that there will be ongoing technical discussions between the two countries.

I want to point out that on July 3, 2023, Yahya Ale-Ishaq, who leads the Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce, declared that Iraq paid off its entire debt to Iran, which amounted to 10 billion dollars.
