The Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, opened the construction of four vital chemical and industrial projects in Karbala Industrial City.
These projects entail:
A 1,000 tons per day industrial gas plant;
A plant with white oils, 1,000 m3/day;
A plant for organic solvents, 1,000 m3/day; and
A plant for vacuum distillation, 2,500 tons per day.
A new industrial city, representing a strategic location along the Development Road, aligns with the broader Iraqi strategy of increasing petrochemical and industrial production to reduce oil revenue dependence and creating thousands of jobs. These factories will provide key inputs for other industries as part of the Iraqi strategy of economic diversification.
