According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Monday, the burning of a copy of Al-Mushah Al-Sharif and Al-Ilam in front of the embassy building in Denmark.

The ministry said in a statement to Shafaq News Agency that “these systematic actions allow the spread of extremism and hatred to weaken the communities in front of a real threat to peaceful coexistence”, demanding the authorities of the countries in the European Union to “quickly review the so-called freedom of expression and the right to protest, and that there should be a clear collective stance to prevent these abuses in front of the embassies of the Republic of Iraq on their territories.”

“Quietness and inability to follow clear techniques forestall the culprits of these activities and open them to lawful responsibility, keeping them from participating in perilous way of behaving.”

The ministry reiterated the position of the Government of Iraq calling for international decisions and instruments to criminalize these actions, with a view to respecting religious symbols and holy books in an equal and transparent manner, without discrimination on the basis of religion and race.

For his part, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, said that “the diplomatic staff of the Danish mission in Baghdad has betrayed the Iraqi territory since two days”.
