An economic expert, Diaa Al-Mohsen, expressed concern on Wednesday about the continuous fluctuations in the dollar exchange rate and the uncontrolled rise of its value in the parallel market. He also raised the issue of collusion by some parties within the Central Bank regarding the fluctuation of the dollar value.
Al-Mohsen said that while the Central Bank management is aware of banks selling dollars and exploiting passports, certain people within the bank are involved.
In his statement, he mentioned that collusion among certain political blocs and banks within the Central Bank regarding the dollar issue amounts to a conspiracy to exert pressure on the Prime Minister, who is considered better than his predecessors.
He said that there are efforts by the Prime Minister to achieve benefits for certain parties regarding the dollar issue. He emphasized that the Sudanese visit to New York and his meetings with US Treasury officials will greatly help in the fight against corruption, which will be evident in the near future.
