An increase in oil production from Iraqi Kurdistan helped Norwegian oil and gas operator DNO post a US$35 million second quarter of 2024 profit.

Its average daily output in Kurdistan for the second quarter turned out at 79,783 barrels per day, 5 percent higher compared to the previous quarter.

Of its output, the lion’s share came from the Peshkabir and Tawke fields, which produced 49,099 bpd and 30,684 bpd, respectively, according to DNO data. The Bashiqa field recorded nil output.

The company stated that local businesses paid an average of $30 per barrel for the oil from these fields, which had helped contribute overall income of $137 million.

Especially, the Kurdistan region of Iraq remains DNO’s main area of production and reserves base.
