Compared to Monday, Tuesday’s dollar sales from the Central Bank of Iraq climbed to more than $258 million at the currency auction.
Shafaq News Agency correspondent said that the bank sold 258 million, 203 thousand and 662 dollars in its auction today, covering it at a basic exchange rate of 1310 dinars per dollar for documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards, and at a rate of 1310 dinars per dollar for foreign transfers, and at a rate of 1305 dinars per dollar in cash.
Most of the dollar sales, he said, went to raise balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, which totaled $242,703,662, an increase of 94% above cash sales of $15,500,000.
Our reporter said that there were two banks that bought cash dollars, fourteen banks that fulfilled requests to improve balances overseas, and eleven overall exchange companies engaged in the auction.
