A security source reported on Monday that the US military sent additional troops to the Ain al-Asad base in western Anbar province.
A source stated that the American forces have sent significant military reinforcements to the Ain Al-Assad base in the Al-Baghdadi district of Hit district, west of Anbar, without providing any clear reasons. This coincided with an increase in the targeting of the base building with missile and drone attacks during the current week.
According to him, Braddam tanks and other military equipment were among the reinforcements that arrived at the base building. He mentioned that the tanks may be transferred from the Ain al-Assad base to the Syrian al-Tanf port base since the American forces do not require tanks to carry out their tasks in the western regions.
During a recent interview, a spokesperson stated that the security forces stationed at the Ain al-Assad base were unaware of the reason for the arrival of additional reinforcements. However, they suggested that it could be related to an increase in security measures and fortifications being implemented at the base.
The American forces vowed to continue operations and stressed that they would not stand by and watch as the Palestinian people in Gaza are being genocided against, while the Iraqi Islamic Resistance claimed responsibility for targeting the American bases in Ain al-Assad and Harir in Iraqi Kurdistan on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
