Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani returned to Iraq on Saturday after attending the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. During the event, he held several meetings with high-ranking officials.
The Sudanese Media Office has released a statement to the Shafaq News Agency, stating that the Iraqi Prime Minister participated in United Nations meetings, where he delivered a speech on behalf of Iraq and also spoke at the Sustainable Development Goals Summit..
During his visit, Al-Sudani held meetings with a variety of high-level officials, including the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Chancellor of Germany, the Prime Ministers of Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, Malaysia, Lebanon, and Kuwait, as well as the heads of state of Bulgaria, Cyprus, South Korea, and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Additionally, he met with the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, the Deputy Prime Minister of Britain, the Secretary of State of the United States, the Under-Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, and the Special Envoy to the Middle East and North Africa appointed by the President of the United States.
The Prime Minister of Iraq had meetings with several high-ranking officials, including the Secretary-General of NATO, the Director of the United Nations Development Programme, and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). Additionally, they met with representatives from General Electric companies, multinational technology group Honeywell, and the American law firm Kuvenkin.
Members of the American Chamber of Commerce, businessmen, and investors engaged in a meeting and dialogue symposium. Additionally, a dialogue session took place at the American Council on Foreign Relations, and another symposium was held by the American institutions “Monitor” and “Semaphore.”
Al-Sudani participated in several interviews with various American media outlets.
Additionally, he released a collaborative statement alongside the Malaysian Prime Minister to address the issue of Islamophobia.
