Iraq’s researcher Karim Al-Badr said on Tuesday that the country did not pick significant economic initiatives on its own. This implies that America decided on port of Aqaba and development direction.
Al-Badr said in a statement, “The development path is an American attempt to shrink Iraq in the region while Iraq is the beating heart of the world and the strategic road linking Asia and Europe.” Furthermore mentioned by the Minister of Transport was that “the profits that come from the development path will return to Iraq with only one billion dollars annually,” however “the silk road will generate many times this amount if implemented.”
“The Sudanese government sold the Faw port and the railroads in partnership with three other countries so that the Gulf countries would benefit from American dictates,” he said. “Also a decision to support Jordan’s close relationship with America is giving the Aqaba pipeline and exporting Iraqi oil to an unknown desert,” he remarked.
Al-Fatlawi, an Al-Fatah Alliance member, had earlier said that American actions in Iraq led to the agreement on the growth path and the abandonment of the Silk Road.
