About one billion dollars in sales from the Central Bank of Iraq within a week

The total sales of hard currency to USD by the Central Bank of Iraq exceeded $985 million last week.

According to the correspondent, the Central Bank sold a total of 985,596,005 dollars during the past week when the auction was open for five days. The daily average rate stood at 184,462,106 dollars, which is higher than the previous week’s rate of 801,133,899 dollars.

The highest sales of the week occurred on Tuesday with $199,829,639, while the lowest sales were on Sunday with $193,925,190.

During the past week, our correspondent reported foreign remittance sales of $776,984,105, a 64% increase from cash sales of $280,613,900.

According to our correspondent, the sales were made in cash and through transfers abroad to finance foreign trade. The selling price of documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards was at 1,305 dinars per dollar, while the selling price for transfers abroad and cash was at 1,310 dinars per dollar.
