The leader of the coordination framework, Turki Al-Utbi, confirmed on Friday that an arrest warrant against the former Prime Minister is imminent.
During an interview with Al-Maalouma, Al-Utbi stated that Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, a former Prime Minister, committed nine serious violations while holding important state positions. There are ongoing investigations into several files by specialized committees. Al-Utbi believes that an arrest warrant for Al-Kadhimi is imminent, although the final decision lies with the judicial authority. The authority will assess the situation and make rulings based on facts, but all indications suggest that the former Prime Minister committed significant violations. Al-Utbi emphasized the extent of corruption during Al-Kadhimi’s time in office.
The current government, headed by Al-Kadhimi, is currently investigating several cases of suspected corruption. It is anticipated that more of the former Prime Minister’s aides will receive orders for arrest and detention in the near future. Previously, the courts had already issued arrest warrants for some of Al-Kadhimi’s aides on suspicion of corruption.
