Yesterday, Muhammad Dahham, the leader of the Unified Anbar Alliance, stated that the removal of Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi was a simple procedure. He also emphasized that his alliance plans to work together with other political parties to move forward with the impeachment process.
Dahham stated to Al-Maalouma that there is a significant bond between Hasm and Azm, especially when it comes to the removal of Al-Halbousi and gathering enough signatures as required by other political entities.
He stated that it is currently not difficult to collect signatures to dismiss the Speaker of Parliament. However, the focus on determination and registering entities has caused a slight delay in the collection of signatures and submitting the request for dismissal.
He stated that the Sovereignty Coalition is now aware of the change in Al-Halbousi’s leadership, and his deputies are committed to removing him from his position. He explained that Taqadom, which only has 24 deputies, is outnumbered by the number of Sunni deputies. However, some Taqadom representatives have indicated that they will sign the petition if enough signatures are collected.
Muhammad Karim, the representative of the coordination framework, stated that the framework’s forces would not intervene if there is a desire to replace Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi. However, they require the presentation of signatures from 50 plus one of the component representatives. This was confirmed in a previous statement to Al-Maalouma.
