Al-Qanoun criticizes the interventions of the US ambassador in the electricity file.. It proved to be a failure.

On Thursday, the leader of the State of Law coalition, Haider al-Lami, expressed disapproval of the involvement of US Ambassador Elena Romanowsky in the electric energy issue. He emphasized that America is still opposing efforts by international companies to improve the electricity sector in Iraq.

During an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, Al-Lami stated that the United States of America has failed in several areas, particularly in the electricity sector, as evidenced by the General Electric Company’s inability to perform since 2003. He further claimed that Washington is intentionally sabotaging Iraq’s electricity sector to maintain leverage over the government.

He stated that the German company Siemens was prevented by America from constructing an advanced electrical system that could have been a radical solution to the energy crisis in the country. He also highlighted that US Ambassador Elena Romanowski had no authority to continue her unlawful interventions in an attempt to enforce new American companies to operate in Iraq.

He commented that Washington is determined to harm the Iraqi people during the summer season. He pointed out that America is still opposing international companies that aim to modernize the electricity sector in Iraq. US Ambassador Elena Romanowsky urged the government to consider hiring several new US firms to work in the electricity industry.

It’s important to mention that Siemens, a German company, had plans to establish large energy stations in Iraq by investing in associated gas emitted from oil fields. Unfortunately, these plans were halted by America. The goal was to meet Iraq’s local energy needs.
