The head of the National Bank’s legislative branch, Ali Al-Alaq, was addressed by Hadi Al-Salami of the Parliamentary Respectability Council to conclude his work. He emphasized that the legislative branch’s oral questions would be sent to Al-Alaq.
“There are parliamentary demands to end the governor of the Central Bank’s assignment due to his failure to control the official and parallel dollar exchange rate,” he said.
“There are numerous observations on the performance of the Governor of the Central Bank, in addition to his reaching the legal age,” he said, adding that he had asked questions of the Governor and was awaiting a date to be set by the House of Representatives Presidency to receive him in the House.
He underlined that the “reason for requesting hosting” is “the existence of a major defect in the bank’s work and the existence of financial violations estimated at about $120 million per month.”
