The rightful owner, Wael Munther, confirmed today, Saturday, that the decision of the Presiding Board of Judges of the Independent High Election Commission regarding the candidate of the “Progress” coalition list, namely, Hamid Jassim Muhammad Kasar Al-Zubaie, to replace the deceased member of the House of Representatives is incorrect.
“There are the people who are rationalizing as shown by the legitimate text, section one, which states, the next candidate on his list, that, his list, should be the same party, and therefore instead of referring to the list to be Ahmed Al-Masari, they jumped to Al-Kassar considering that he belongs to the Development Party to return one for one, since Al-Masari is from the Accord Party, and in front of them was Al-Sayyab, and since she is a female and the vacant chair is a male, the chair did not go to her,”
He added, “Subsequently, the Commission Board’s methodology is erroneous, and the choice was taken by larger part, and that truly intends that there was debate among them, and it was chosen by casting a ballot and not by agreement, and an allure might happen since the choice was distributed, so it ought to be pursued as quickly as time permits inside the following three days, and afterward the court might have another methodology with respect to this choice.”
The High Elections Commission announced the appointment of Hamid Al-Zubaie as a successor to the slain Ghandi Muhammad on Thursday.
The report of the Constituent Commission explained that “The Board discussed amending the Text of the Head of the Election monitoring Body No. ( O/5248), which was issued on 5/5/2024 and entitled “Alternative Candidate,” and also the memo from Fayyad Yassin Hussein’s office Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners No. 68, on 8/6/2024 entitled Postponement of a Meeting), and after deliberation among the members of the Board of Arbitrators, it decided:
First – Endorsement of what was expressed in the reminder of the Activities and Data Innovation Division No., 472 dated 8/5/2024, states that Hamid Jassam Muhammad Kasar Al-Zubaie is the alternate candidate of the National Progress Alliance for the deceased MP Ghandi Muhammad Abdul Karim Abdul Qader.
Second: authorizing the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners to inform the honorable House of Representatives of the type of this decision.
Thirdly – The decision shall be posted on the Commission’s website.”
On Sunday, July 28, Iraqi parliament member Ghandi Al-Kasnazan died due to a severe heart attack.
Gandi Muhammad Abdul Karim Abdul Qadir Al-Kasnazani was born in 1972. An Iraqi politician, he is the brother of Nehru Muhammad Abdul Karim, the representative of Aliya Al-Kasnazani Al-Qadiriyya order in Iraq and the world.
