Friday saw Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani visit North Oil Company (NOC) in Kirkuk, north of Baghdad. There he discussed the contract the British corporation BP holds for the development of oil reserves as well as the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline with the Director General.
According to a NOC source, the Iraqi Oil Minister and other Ministry officials visited the company’s headquarters unannounced and were met by NOC Director General Burkan Hassan Abdullah who also showed them around the departments.
The source said “Abdul-Ghani met with Abdullah, his assistants, and department engineers to discuss overall oil production and strategies for increasing it in the company, highlighting that Abdullah has the resources to increase production.”
To promote field development in line with a contract with British BP, the Minister of Oil asked for an integrated map of crude oil output in the Kirkuk fields, including Havana, Jambour, and Khabbaz, together with a full report on production levels in each field.
Moreover, that is what the source confirmed “Abdul-Ghani informed the organization to team up closely with the English one, following the agreement endorsed on Thursday, to foster the oil fields, increment generally creation, and make an arrangement for undiscovered wells to be created by both NOC and BP.”
“NOC management gave a whole update on production, the completion of repairs to the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline, and the successful trial run of the line, which is ready to transfer crude oil from Kirkuk fields to the Turkish port of Ceyhan,” he said.
To advance the oil and gas resources in Kirkuk, the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and the British oil company BP inked a thorough oil memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday.
An official from the State leader Mohamed Shia al-Sudani’s workplace said that al-Sudani oversaw the marking function; Delegate State leader for Energy Undertakings and Oil Clergyman Hayan Abdul-Ghani handled the Iraqi side and BP’s Chief Murray Auchincloss handled the organization.
Emphasizing “MoU includes the rehabilitation and development of four oil fields operated by North Oil Company in Kirkuk,” the statement stressed Bai Hassan, Jambour, Khabbaz; plains of Kirkuk with its Baba and Avana domes,
