On Friday, Representative Baqir Al-Saadi confirmed that the development road project has attracted interest from 45 countries.
Al-Saadi stated in an interview that the Development Road Project has been gaining more international attention every day, particularly since all studies indicate its economic success. The project will focus on five significant areas to change the path of international transportation from Southeast Asia towards Europe.
The speaker mentioned that a total of 45 countries are keen on the development road project. Some of these countries have officially expressed their interest in investing directly in the project’s first phase. The investments made in this project will help establish 10 new cities along the road’s path, stretching from Basra to the Turkish border.
He noted that the project would initiate a transformation of the entire region, boosting economic activity and developing land routes that annually transport goods worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
The Iraqi government initiated a development project aimed at diversifying the country’s economy and leveraging its strategic location on the international transport map several months ago.
