Representative Mahma Khalil announced on Saturday that he will be collecting signatures from parliamentarians to call for an extraordinary session. In an interview with Shafaq News Agency, Khalil expressed concern about the negative effects of the increased exchange rate of the dollar on the livelihoods of Iraqi citizens. Before the upcoming parliamentary session on Monday, Khalil has expressed his plan to gather 50 deputy signatures and invite the Speaker of the Council along with his first and second deputies. The purpose of this gathering is to hold an extraordinary session with the presence of relevant officials such as the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank. They aim to openly discuss and disclose the reasons behind the recent increase of the dollar rate in comparison to the Iraqi currency, to ensure transparency for the public.
